Whooping Crane Fun Fact: A fun fact about the whooping crane is that it has one of the longest migrations of any bird in North America, flying over 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles) between its breeding grounds in Canada and its wintering grounds in Texas! Known for its striking white feathers and loud, trumpeting call, the whooping crane is also one of the rarest birds in the world, having come back from the brink of extinction thanks to conservation efforts.
