Emu Fun Fact: A fun fact about the emu is that it’s a fantastic runner, capable of reaching speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph)! Emus also have incredibly strong legs, which allow them to take giant strides of up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) in a single step, making them the second-fastest bird on land after the ostrich.
